Kitchen Porter
Location: Golden Coast Leisure Park, Station Road, Woolacombe, Devon, EX34 7HW
Salary: £11.62 per hour
Hours: Full and part time positions available. Bars and Restaurants are open 7 days per week. Shifts include day times and evenings into early hours as trade demands.
About the Role
Our Kitchen Porters work as part of the wider kitchen and food service team, serving food and drinks, assisting the Chefs in the kitchen, promoting specials, deals and events, and ensuring that the venue is a clean and welcoming place for all our customers! The role is key to ensuring our customers experience a high quality food service, that is provided with the highest food hygiene and safety standards in a truly customer-focused environment.
Typical duties and responsibilities include:
- Operating and maintaining dishwashing equipment such as large commercial dishwashers and glass washers
- Cleaning and sanitising dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment such as pots, pans and appliances
- Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen work areas, including sweeping and mopping floors, wiping counters and washing walls
- Assisting with food preparation and basic cooking tasks as instructed by the chef on duty
- Ensuring all stores, fridges and freezers are kept clean and tidy, at the correct temperatures and appropriately ventilated
About the Person
No previous experience required. We are looking for someone who has the ability to learn quickly. You will need to be enthusiastic and friendly. A good eye for detail is very helpful to ensure that all dishes etc. are cleaned and sanitised properly.
Above all, you will need to have the right attitude. Our customers are at the heart of everything we do and so we expect you to do everything in your power to make their Verdant experience the absolute best it could possibly be. We don’t believe in ‘that’s not my job’ so you will need to be adaptable and flexible to help the wider park team meet and exceed our customers’ expectations.
Skills and experience required:
- A good eye for detail whilst working quickly and efficiently
- A commitment to delivering excellent customer service
- A friendly and flexible attitude
- Awareness of basic food hygiene procedures
- Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential as full training and support is provided
