Bar & Restaurant Manager/Chef - Erigmore
Location: Erigmore Leisure Park, St Mary’s Road, Birnam, Perthshire, PH8 0BJ
Salary: £28,500 PA
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full time, 45 hours over 5 days each week. Shifts will include evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
About the Role
With overall responsibility for the food and beverage service on park, you will oversee all aspects of the service and the staff, leading by example with a friendly and professional approach. Ensuring our customers are having the best experience possible is an integral part of the role, whether it is dealing with complaints swiftly, mentoring the team in customer service excellence or just getting stuck in to whatever tasks need completing during a busy shift. The role will involve shifts in the kitchen, cooking meals to order from our seasonal menu.
Typical duties and responsibilities include:
- Manage a system of stock control, stock rotation and ordering for both the bar and kitchen
- Ensure there is sufficient and appropriate staffing at all times whilst adhering to wage budget
- Ensure opening and closing procedures for the bar and kitchen are adhered to
- Ensure that all team members are suitably trained, have comprehensive product knowledge and understand what is required from them in their job role.
- Provide bar and table service to customers delivering excellent customer service
- Prepare and cook food to order, from our regular menu as well as specials boards, in line with company standards
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure excellent customer service and positive interactions
About the Person
You will need to have previous experience of managing a food and beverage service and be able to demonstrate effective measures for reducing waste and increasing sales. You will also need to have previous experience with managing and developing a staff team and be able to demonstrate effective ways of motivating the team to achieve excellence. Good knowledge of the licensing laws (plus a personal license) and food standards agency code of practice is essential.
Skills and experience required:
- Experience as an F&B Manager/Supervisor or a similar role
- Experience with stock control and managing budgets
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- A good knowledge of relevant Licencing Laws and food safety standards
- Excellent communication, numeracy and organisational skills.
- A flexible, friendly and professional manner.
- A strong commitment to delivering consistently exceptional customer service.
